    fender speakers vs ???

i just recently purchased a '78 fender princeton reverb. the amp is all original including the crappy fender 10inch speaker. its just not tight enough on the low end.

i was wondering what people's opinions were on other 10 inch speakers from jbl, celestion, weber etc. . .

so far i'm leaning toward the celestion because i love the one in my mesa dc3. but i haven't heard the other ones enough to make a final decision.

I've got a Princeton chorus (two 10 inch) that sounded like crap when i first got it, but I got a really good deal on it so I can't complain. I tried several brands of speakers then finally dropped in a set of altecs and presto, nice phat juicy sound like something a lot bigger than it is.

I picked up a 69 SF Princeton and the original speaker was farting out a bit too much. I stuck a 10" webber 25watt 10F15T lightly doped speaker in it and it sounds fender sweet!

    note:
I dont have the reverb version with the extra tube gain stage, so I'm not sure if my exact speaker choice will give you the same results.

    email Ted he'll help https://weberspeakerscom.secure.powweb.com/weber/
