Bass Problem

During my last recording session, I was having a problem with my bass. Whenever I would touch a string, I would hear a click or pop. And the sweatier my hands got, the worse the noise got. Obviously it translated to tape, which totally sucked. Could this be a grounding problem with mt bass? It's an Ibanez TR300. Any ideas?

I used to have those same problems. Usually the problem was caused by ungrounded power plugs and/or bass cord running along side power cord. Does your amp have a polarity switch? Usually reversing the polarity eliminates ground hum. Have you checked to see if thier may be a short in the bass cord
to the amp. Pickups sometime attract additional noise if not connected properly.
Insure that all wiring is free from any cross-connection from additinal power cords.
Also check for proper micing as their may be unwanted hum rec'd by the mixer. Try to isolate the problem by hooking up your bass step by step.
