I want to buy a new bass amp that have a balanced DI out, I have a choice between the Laney RBG 400 or the Trace Elliot(I forgot the model) cause these are the only two Bass Amp that have DI out in local stores.

I want to buy one with DI out cause I found it extremely difficult for me to record the bass track using mic.

Any sugguestion? or should I buy a direct box, I have never use that before, is it good for recording? Any Brand suggest?

Thanks very much for your suggestion

Well since most basses are recorded/miked thru PA direct anyhow, most any bass amp will have a DI out...I have a Gallien-Kreuger 400RB and the DI on it takes a quarter inch cable...i used to use an Ampeg SVT-III and that had both a quarter inch jack and an XLR jack which gave me a better sound....

if you're going to use a direct box for recording, get a SansAmp preamp...it's small, and you just plug directly into that and into the board.

Fast. Easy. Simple. Rock n Roll.
