acoustic guitar sound

I think I read on this forum that you can also mic the fretboard and sound hole. Condensor.
I tried it, but I am not versed enough to suggest it or not,but it sounded somewhat different, than a single Condensor. I liked it .

Jimi, if you're using one of Tascam porta studios, I don't believe the mic preamps in those units will supply phantom power so using a condensor mic would be a problem. Not insurmountable, but a problem.
A small diaphram condensor is primarily the way I like to record acoustic guitar by the way. If your unit won't do phantom, you can either try to find a condensor that will run on battery (AKG C-1000, some of the CAD mics, etc), an external mic preamp that will do phantom power or a phantom power inserter.
