?Which Acoustic Guitar?

I recently was given/loaned a fender acoustic. It really turned me on to playing acoustic, but the damned thing is VERY hard to play, especially chords.

Can anyone recommend a relatively inexpensive acoustic which is not a bear to play? I guess for me "relatively inexpensive" would be in the $200-$300 range. I'd like to spend more, but I don't see my wife allowing it this close to my last purchase... :(

*edit*

I guess I should include that I am wanting a standard 6-string acoustic.

The guitar you played was very likely in need of some adjustment, so it might be able to be made to play very easily. Don't discount that possibility.

At this price point you have some severe limitations, so I'd scour the pawn shops for a used guitar. Takamine, Washburn, Epiphone - and a host of Korean imports - it's possible to do pretty well used. Go with someone who knows guitars and plan on spending $35 - 50 with a tech to tune it up.

If you're looking at new stuff, these are available starting at around $400 - and deliver huge bang for the buck.
