Monitor volume controller - DIY?

Hi, I have a wierd setup where I use a Yamaha mixer (MG10/2) to feed my studio monitor amp (Yamaha P1600) as well as headphones. This mixer does not allow me to turn down the volume on the monitors independently from the cans. Because the Yamaha amp has independent volume for each channel, I'd like to not adjust those each time I want to turn town the speaker volume for fear of mis-tweaking the balance.

Is it possible to just add a box with a single pot to go between the mixer and the monitor amp? Ideally I'd like a single pot and a mute switch to totally kill the monitors in one fell-swoop, if desired.

Thanks!

Look at the Presonus HP-4 headphone amp, about $100 it has what you are looking for.

Thanks - that definitely will do it. Just looking for a lower cost solution, if possible.
