Korg Pandora PX5D (Multi-FX w/USB) ?

Well since nobody else has given you input on the Korg I will give you mine. I have been using the PX series for the past 10 years and I really enjoy it. I have used it record with and have had decent results. Your son may want it for the effects but it is also a good tool to learn rythym and timing. I sit down for hours sometimes and work on leads, rythyms, and develope cool riffs for my own songs.

The last Pandora I bought was the PX4 but the PX5 will be in my collection soon. I don't think you will go wrong with purchasing it for him. It is a very simple device for the basic learning yet the programing might be a little challenging. If only this would have been around when I was a kid I would have been asking for the same thing.

Good luck
Danny

;)Thanks Danny! I ended up getting it (on sale too) and it looks like a nice unit. Not sure if i want to load the supplied Ableton Live Lite or use existing Sonar.

The effects and amp models are quite good.
