How long should my cables be?

Hello. I just bought a pair of delicious FOCAL cms 65 . I am using XLR to connect to the output of my Apollo 8P. How long should my cables be. Would 10 feet be ok or would I be losing some frequency shine on the high end?

That will be fine. You are running balanced lines.
Even running an unbalanced cable such as a rca plug, you're still fine for up to 15 to 20 feet.

However imho, there is no reason to have long cables going to monitors.
Your monitors are usually pretty close to your interface anyway.

Balanced/Unbalanced has nothing to do with the question about frequency response. With decent cables, you can go hundreds of feet without losses in the audio band. The real issue will be noise, and that is where balanced cables will have the advantage.

^ I knew that but thanks for clarification.
I was just trying to convey that it would be fine......without having to do a bunch of typing on my tiny phone screen.
:D

Edit: I could have just typed " it will be fine"

That would have been accurate and simple.
Much less typing :D
