Drum and Guitar Recording

Hey Recorders,

I was wondering, my friends like to get together sometimes and jam. I have a Tascam 414 PortaStudio. We would like to record the guitar, but the only way can think of is to put the microphone next to the amp. IS there a way to hook the amp up to the PortaStudio and record.
And recording drums, what is a good recording technique for recording drums?

You'll get the best sound by jut sticking a mic up to the amp, but if you have a line out jack you can plug thata right in to your recorder. Drum recording is more complicated though. How many mics do you have and what kind are they? That will determine the best way to mic drums. For jamming, I usually stick a mic over top of the entire kit, and it serves the purpose.
