Do I Need A SoundCard With Protools?

I own protools on a macbook (2008) and i own logic on a macDesktop (2013). Do i need a soundcard to have etter sound while mixing? or are soundcards used only for the headphone out?
If i do need a soundcard, what do you recommend under 200?

You bought Protools and logic?
The Protools version may limit the hardware that you can use, but I'd recommend searching/reading for now.
