can u hear a difference? cheap pre, plugs and outboard pre

I was messing around. Comparing a UX2 to my ISA One...

58second snippet of the following:

1) cheap pre on interface, dry - nothing added
2) isa one into Line In of same interface, dry
3) add a little eq software, comp etc..., and volume to the isa one
4) cheap interface, adding some plugin/software eq and comp to match the isa one

there is no point or goal, only a sound byte comparison of a outboard and plug-in...

I cant hear much of a difference.

Ok I just listened to your track, with computer speakers I could not tell the difference but once I put on my studio headphone I could easily tell the difference between two.Your ux2 has lots of background noise compare to ISA . Also, ISA has much more bottom end.. it has much more powerful bass and low mid to it.. I think....
