time shifting

i am building drum and bass tracks on my zoom 234, and want to do some shifting to get a more human feel. my question is this- should I shift the entire drum kit, or just the snare? Should I shift just before the beat, or just after? I can also shift the bass line. Should I shift the bass before or after the beat, and if I shift the drums, can i shift the bass too, or will this throw the beat off. The sound I am looking for is a rock/funk feel. What about adding some swing? any opinions will be greatly appreciated.

I don´t know a lot about the ZOOM, but the best way to realise a human feel in drumloops lies in the quantizing and placing in my opinion, especially if you´re trying to create some funk-type loops. Try to place snares a little later on the beat, and do the same with hihats. Creates that ´laidback´ feeling...
