ok, i have an old pearl world series snare, it could use a change of heads, but it sounds perfect now except for the noise it makes....
after every hit, it sounds like an echoing bee on helium and acid...
i dont think its the snares, ive can see that they arent touching each other at all, and they havent been a problem.

anyone else have this problem?
any suggestions?

(the drum is dampened, so i dont think it needs anything like that)

Do i need to scrap my baby?

for being old, it has a great tone...
the heads and everything are perfect right now... just how i like them
why is it buzzing tho?

couldn't tell you without hearing/seeing the problem...

Are your snares (the metal stringys on the bottom head) too loose?

This problem is more than often caused by tomtoms.
if your toms ring from the sound of your snare, they will make the snares buzz. Try damping your 12" or 10" with your hand or a towel while hitting your snare, and find out which is causing the buzz.

When you locate the trouble tom(s),(maybe more than one is making problems??) tune it half a note up or down.

the buzz should go away.

Good luck

Also check the lugs. The screws can come loose and 5 minutes with a screw driver may be all you need to tighten up a few lugs and be back making music.
