hello,

just wanted to ask you, are you familiar with?????

i recorded percusion tombac with>>>

close mic

421 and RIBBON
and km012 room mic, about 1 meter away.

during the mx i noticed timedelay, and therefor it makes it a bit buzzzy.

do you move tracks in milliseconds to get it more on point? is that dangerous???

i tried it and it sounds better. never did it before, but still im a bit brrrrrrr/
i dont hear phase probelms.

can i do this? did you do this before?

greetz Peter

dang i hear bass dropping, so i got phasing isues.

still any sugestions to solve this?

How are the other two (412 & ribbon) doing? - Both 'close, equal distance, playing well together on their own?

Just the standard box of tricks..

'Close + 'one meter could make for some holes well down into the low range. Generally you'd want to find nice sounding positions, then record. :)
Have you tried flipping polarity?
Sliding the far mic forward in time (towards alignment) will play with where the holes are, as will delaying it further. 3 meters is about 3ms. As you move towards alignment the holes will be restricted to higher frequencies. Maybe somewhere along the way it sounds just fine?

If it's an option for the mix, lowering the volume of either set (close or far) a-la the 3:1 Attenuation method will reduce the depth of what ever peaks and holes you land on.

Pan the far mic off to the side so the holes aren't as noticeable.

Rerecord with the far mic back enough to smear over the holes with the more random reflections.
