recommend a drumming video

Hi

I am really getting into programming drums. I am getting the hang of programming grooves, playing off the beat etc, but what really confuses me is playing the hi-hat.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good drum tuition video that shows how hi-hats are played in different situations ie ballad verses, building into a chorus, playing a bit heavier in the chorus, solos etc.

I listen to a lot of music, but it is still sometimes hard to pick how the drummer is playing the hats - I can feel what I want the song to do, but can't pull it off until I know what the sounds are.

I guess I'm kind of confused as to what you are asking. Are you wanting to know "how" they are played, as in closed, open, half open, with the foot, etc?

Or are you wanting to know the type of beats and notes that are played?

I'm not sure if either of these vids I have would really show you what you want, but I have the Carter Buford, Neil Peart, and Mike Portnoy vids, and they're all excelent. Carter's goes pretty into depth with hi hat stuff, although it's really advanced.
