Don't know the drummer, but I've been watching a lot of Marcus Miller in recent months.

From this concert, seems like your drummer understands dynamics.
 
Yeah, that guy is bad ass! To bad he forgot to put his name on the kick drum head. He is just some dood in Marcus Miller videos now. lol!

I am really enjoying watching these! Thanks for the heads up! :)
 
The thing I find amazing about his playing is that you dont even realise he is banging the sticks, and then when the video flicks back to him, he is going 1,000 miles an hour on a cymbal ride with a single snare beat thrown in as an accent.

It is so subtle.

That would have to be close to the best 1 hour and 15 minutes of live recorded music I have ever heard.

It is those 'subtle' attributes that I find make a drummer amazing! I'm with you here man.
