Scott Columbus (Manowar!)
Awesome drummer who never receives much attention. Amazing Double Kicker. Probably the greatest influence overall in my playing.

Neil Peart in his "Post Freddie Gruber" mode!
John Bonham (The King of Groove!)
Thee Slayer Hippy (Poison Idea)
Denis Eliot (Foreigner)
Carl Palmer(ELP, Asia)
Cozy Powell(Rainbow, Whitesnake,Sabbath)
Lee Kerslake(Uriah Heep, Ozzy)
Dale Crover (The Melvins)

The list could go on and on.

Tim

- Ian Paice
- Alan White
- Terry Bozio
- Cozy Powell
- Peter Erskine
- Jeff Porcaro

Too many to mention.

Stephen Perkins (Janes, Pormo)

William Goldsmith (seen him in the live video from last year ametth?)

Phil Selway
Ringo
Keith Moon
Whoever played drums on Josh Rouse's first album (Dressed up like Nebraska)

Joeseph "Ziggy" modeliste
Russell Batiste
Buddy Rich
Neil Peart
John Bonham
"Smitty" Smith

And last but not least, some street performer chick that I saw down at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica, who played empty water jugs and paint buckets. It was amazing.

Not necessarily in this order: Mitch Mitchell(Jimi Hendrix Experience)Simon Phillips(Brit session player,toured/recorded w/Jeff Beck)John Bonham(duh!)Matt Bissonnette(Joe Satriani and others).

Danny Carey - Tool.
Best rock drummer today. Hands down. Although Vinnie Paul from Pantera can play some pretty fresh stuff.

Danny Carey is good, but not the best rock drummer today. That honor would go to Mike Portnoy of Dream Theater (the best band in rock today).

Others of honorable mention.......
Will Calhoun (Living Colour)
Carter Beauford (Dave Mathews)
Neil Peart (duh)
Terry Bozzio
Marvin Smitty Smith (Tonight Show with Jay Leno) Don't let his gig fool you. He is AMAZING!!!!!

Ok man. To tell you the truth, I am not that familiar with Dream Theater. I have heard of them, know who they are, but dont listen to em. I like to think of myself as pretty well versed in modern rock music, and I have yet to hear anyone better than Daney Carey. That dude continually amazes me.

Dave Weckl (Chic Corea)
Chris Wood (MMW)
Carter Beauford (DMB)
Stewart Copland (Police)

And wut Emeric said
