Hi all,

I just purchased Mackie ProFX10v3 10-channel.

I plan to hook this up to a PC with REAPER DAW. My PC is old. I need to upgrade.

I have a few good microphones, bass, guitar, and synth.

Any ideas on my next steps? I would appreciate connecting with users of Mackie mixers.

Thanks

I had a Gen 1 Mackie ProFX mixer, only used it a little for recording (mostly to a Boss stand-alone digital recorder). Like most of the mixers 10+ years ago, the A-D converters were not-so-good, and turning the volume up for better signal introduced a whiny high pitched background noise. At least the Mackie had a separate USB volume control, unlike some mixers which are controlled by the mains output sliders.
Is there some reason you bought a mixer instead of an audio interface?

Next Steps? Beyond getting a new computer and hooking it up via USB what is there? How ol is your computer that you have now?

I'm using REAPER DAW.

Found this:

I won't bother you unless you have tips on how to hook up Mackie ProFX10v3.

I suppose I need to climb this ladder little by little :)

I shall report in due time.
