    Mexican Teles

I've been on a straight SG diet for about 20 years. My wife got my my first real Fender amp earlier this year, and now I'm starting to think about a guitar to go with it. I have an old Charvel Surfcaster with lipstick pickups from 1991 - kind of fun sounding, but I think a Jazzmaster or a Tele...

Stooges cover - I need somebody

haha - you're OK with the bass after I cut the crap out of it and re-uploaded :) Wish you were in h-town. My daughter lives in Austin and I go out there sometimes - I'll try and PM you before I go next time to see if you're playing anywhere.

    New deep house track

I enjoyed listening to that. I don't have any meaningful experience in that genre (I don't even know why it's "deep" house) so I can't offer too much in the way of suggestions. The overall mix sounded very well balanced on the system I'm listening to, and maybe youtube didn't screw it up too...

    Half Way There

Sounds great -- I have to listen low at this time of night. I guess maybe the snare could use a little more snap or air. The vocals and the guitar sound great, peformance and recording. I gotta try out a 421 on some singers. Not to sound overly detail focused, but was that a newer one or an...

    Velvet Underground -- Heroin (Cover)

Before I listened, I was thinking - no way the vocals are going to be loud - they're supposed to be loud. But yeah maybe up a little. I guess I would try lowering them about 3 dB, and maybe compressing a little (more?) if they get lost. You do sound like Lou!

    Feedback on my mix

funny song - fun to listen to On the guitar, you might try cutting frequency around 100 to 200 hz - it will sound less muddy. I think the guitar is too loud compared to the vocals, but that may just be the low end. I really like the guitar solos - I think they probably do not need any eq...

Stooges cover - I need somebody

Thanks man - I'm a terrible bass player, and that's why I mix it so high - insecurity :) -- I'll fix that. The timing on the bass ain't getting any better until we find our bass player, I'm sad to say. [ok uploaded a fix for the bass over the original] Yeah - the crash is a little loud. I...

    New Tune - Rearview

The second mix sounds better to me - the vocal is really different, and I like it better overall, but has a high-end edge to it that sounds a little harsh on my system. The drums are a lot better - I could barely hear the toms at all in the first one. Nice song! You're definitely signing in a...

Stooges cover - I need somebody

https://soundcloud.com/otherdog/flyingmonkease-cover-stooges-ineedsomebody Here's my band the Flying Monkease (what's left of it - me and the singer) covering Iggy and the Stooges "I need somebody". I managed to con a real drummer in to playing drums for us -- our last regular drummer moved to...

Pixies "Debaser" feat. Paulman77 on vocals.

I love it - I wish I could cover a song like this that well. The performances are all great. The lead vocal seems a little lost/buried in the mix - maybe that's intentional. I might try putting a little (more?) distortion on it, and/or bringing it up slightly. Maybe do some sidechain...

    The New Tone Thread

I like 1st gear the best -- weird how the highs sort of go away in second gear, but then come back in third gear - at least on my sytem. They all sound good -- I don't think I've ever played through one of those amps JDOD - I'm scrollin and scrollin, but I can't seem to find your clips and...

    The New Tone Thread

Sounds good to me -- I think the low mids (approx 100-200 hz) would probably need to come down quite a bit in a mix or it would get muddy - but that's easy enough with a little HPF, and I like the sound by itself.
