Will DP24 tracks line-up on a DP32?

I know we've always said that you need like-kind machine for tracks to line up on TASCAM decks, but has anyone tried lining up at least the first 8 mono tracks on a DP-24 to a DP-32 or DP32SD or vice versa?
 
The two units are identical in technology and the tracks should have no problem transferring from one to the other. Both are digital and produce a WAV file that will work in either unit as well as any DAW.
 
The new DPxx models all write to WAV natively ... no proprietary file format as in previous Portastudios. Just be sure than both units set the same (eg, 16 bit/44.1). Not only do the files "line up", you can directly exchange entire projects from one unit to another (providing the setting are the same).
