I need a CD writer and am going to go for the Tascam CD-RW700 because its the cheapest. Why is the cheapest is what i need to know... is it reliable? good quality? would i be better saving up for something more expensive? Does anyone have any comments on the 700?
I have a CD-RW700 and it has worked flawlessly, also it's built like a rock, compared to the consumer units. Actually the Tascam CD-RW4U is about $100 cheaper:http://www.tascam.com/product_info.php?pid=313 That may fit the bill as well.

Herm, I know it hurts, but FWIW, I have a 38 that's suffered an almost identical fate

... you know that 'cause I told you that earlier. My fractured 38 looks almost identical to yours. Anyway, the bright side, is that for me, I got a full refund and got to keep the broken 38, AND, FWIW, I believe that the 38 can be brought back up into working condition again,... uh, it's been a long time,... really long,... but before I covered it in plastic and retired it to the garage, I think I did get the broken 38 back into working condition,... worse for wear but working, nonetheless. It's a tragic fate for any R/R, but in my case I got my dough back and the broken unit, which I believe I got back into working order,... then back into the garage it went! I'll check and test it again soon.

I told you I'd have damage photos too, so maybe soon. I have to find them and fish them off a CDr.

Benreturns,...

Yes, as a matter of fact, there was a thread that I posted numerous photos, although NOT of my entire collection, but of a significant portion of it,... the portion of equipment I have set up and presently handy in the studio.

You may want to have a belt of scotch or brandy, or maybe hit the ganga pipe, before viewing pics.:D ;)

See:

Reel I just had to put this up for you after seeing that pic of you.

Hope this dosnt scare anyone
