Tascam TSR-8

I JUST GOT A TASCAM TSR-8 AND IT WAS WORKING FINE THE FIRST DAY. IT WILL REWIND AND FAST FORWARD JUST FINE BUT WHEN I GO TO ENGAGE RECORD AND PLAY THE TAPE WILL NOT ROLL. THE MOTORS SEEM STRONG AND I AM PRETTY SURE I HAVE IT THREADED CORRECTLY. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN.
 
ok first, lay off the all caps. its annoying to read, and it seems liek you are yelling. second, this sounds like a question im not totally cometant to answer. threading i know doesnt have a single thing to do with wehter or not it will go. this is a good place to get some answers. some real analog knowledged peole here and tascam reps. http://www.tascambbs.com/cgi-bin/ub...Vintage+Gear&number=8&DaysPrune=10&LastLogin= i hang aroudn there a little. but i think they will have some good answers.
 
sorry about the caps not the worlds greatest typist. thank you for the site . i will try them and see what they have to say. thanks a lot.
