Tascam 424 MkII with Focusrite Scarlet Solo panning?

Hello,

I just bought Scarlet Solo audio interface. I thought it would be a very simple equipment for me in order to get songs from cassettes into computer. I connected from Tascam 424 mk2 line outputs to Scarlet Solo line/instrument in. When recording with Audacity everything is going to left channel only. So panning guitars left and right and drums in center not working. My old integrated 16 bit sound card´s mic in worked perfectly when I connected Tascam into it and I was able to record songs in stereo and panning guitars as I wanted. Is Scarlet Solo wrong kind of equipment from my need or I am just doing something wrong?

The INST/LINE input is mono. If you want stereo you need to use the other channel, which unfortunately is a mic input. While you could probably adapt the output of the 424 what you really need is an interface with two line inputs.
