Hi all,
I have been given a Tascam 644 portastudio and a Roland R8 drum machine.
They have been sitting around for ages and I have decided to try and get them working.
The Roland seems fine as far as I can tell.
The Tascam has a problem with the tape in that FF and rewind and the shuttle work fine
but I cannot get the tape to play. i have tried holding up the two levers inside top left
and then I can engage play with no problem. The black wheel doesn't seem to be turning
and I am not sure if this is turned when there is a tape inserted or not.
Any help appreciated,

ps, I have RTM but it didn't really offer any help.
