Cd play/import function dilemma

Hello my dear camarades who have always been so helpful,

To express my new TASCAM DP-24 problem as simply as possible: In an effort to transfer a 24 bit file to a song recorded in 16 bits I have taken the file from the PLAYLIST, burned it onto a virgin CD then tried to PLAY/IMPORT it. This doesn't work, and each time I try different variations on the idea, I get the same message: "INSERT A CD" then it throws the CD back out to me.
I tried this with several CDs of my own recordings (on the TASCAM in question, of course) and nothing happens, so I put a commercial CD in and THAT worked. What does this mean?

Thank you so much for that ONE GOOD IDEA.

May the MUSE be constantly with you.

William

It means that like the manual says, the DP24 can import from Audio CDs ... not from data CDs. What you need is a computer and a USB connection to the DP24, or a card reader. Copy from your source to the AUDIO DEPOT folder of the DP24. Then IMPORT on the DP24. The format of both the imported file and the setting of the DP24 must be the same. You should check to make sure your DP24 is running the latest firmware, too.
