stereo to mono with circles

im using cubase 7.5 and i havn't been able to do this with either my tracks, my groups or my stereo output... any leads as to why this would be happening?
anyone has any leads as to how i can get the circles to go from stereo to mono and vice-versa
 
There was a thread about this a few days ago. Not sure where at.

But it seemed some versions had it and some didn't.
 
The circles he is referring to are the indicator on the channels that state whether the information on that track is stereo or mono. To get a stereo track to mono you will need to bounce the stereo track to a mono track. You can't just say "Hey, make this stereo track mono". A stereo track is 2 channels of different information with 1 fader.
