recording mono signal via spdif(stereo), how to convert this to mono?

well, its a bit hard to describe in one sentence,
i want to record a mono signal trough my (stereo) Triple C,
the sdpif output goes to my motu spdif in,

but spdif is stereo, and when it records its just the left channel,
annoying thing is that i can't find how to convert this "half stereo track" to a mono track...

or is there a way to record via spdif in mono?
i'm using cubase sx2

You should be able to select in your software LEFT S/PDIF, RIGHT S/PDIF or STEREO S/PDIF record. If you already have a track that you need to convert, most two track editors will do it (I know SounForge will). I'm not familiar with Cubase but Cakewalk will let you solo a track and render it to a mono or stereo track.
 
oh yes, left-right spdif, thats possible,
gonna check that right away...pretty obvious but i must have overlooked it,
