Some of you may already know this, I did not. I have always hated the default beep click track, you can import your own sounds into the metronome, I am using a stick click file I found online, I tried to upload them here but it won't let me. it's much better than the beep boop sound!:D

Ah ok.

I need to move to 8.5 but kind of want to wait till early December in case they launch 9.

The ideal would be to update to 8.5 and qualify for the grace period (in terms of cost).

I love that 8.5 finally lets you organise your plugins.

Cubase has allowed you to use alternative metronome sounds for year and years. The exact method has changed a few times, but this isn't new as a feature. Back in the pre-SX days, you could send out the metronome data to your GM devices and choose nicer ones.

I always use one track for Groove Agent and then put the Beat Designer on the insert for that channel. That way you can create a complex pattern for your click if needed. In fact I have it saved into my template so it always shows up when I create a project.

As far as I remember you could route the system click to a VST since SX1.

The system beep though? I have never been aware of customizing that.
