hi
greetings to every one hoping
everything is ok with all and best i n health
ok problem at hand
i have a super power 32 bit OS pc (that is the brand of the computer i dont even know what is so super about it)
anyway 500gig harddrive 3 gigs of ram
ps i had a hp pavalion before but it look like i have to go back and
set it back up as soon i have m oney again.

any time i load up cubase 5 the asio meter is jumping high like crazy,
recordings that i did before cant even play no more with out stutter and cracking
i would love to have some help pls asap
if anyone have any idea on what can be done would be highly appreciated
thank you in advance
god bless

that i s on the transport bar
you find the cpu meter and the asio meter
or you can go in devices then vst performance

Those are CPU and disk activity meters.

Did you load up any new VST's?

Is it a cracked version of cubase?

Did you lower the buffers/latency on your interface by accident? I'm confused, did you record on the HP or this computer?

no its not crack for starters
try the buffer thing dont work
i think because its the asio going crazy
normaly if its the cpu you turn the buffer down
i could be wrong so cerect me anytime you feel fit
i have a lexicon omega interface
i recorded on the hp

but on this computer im yet to get a good recording
if i can only get the asio meter to stay down for a while
thank you for all your replies

The higher the buffer settings the less stress on the CPU, what processor was in the HP? and what processor is in this new computer? What OS are you using?

i thought a quad core would of give me more
space to do more
gues im wrong

It should be plenty powerful, so lets rule that out. Are you sure your interface driver is Windows 7 compatible? Have you checked in "Devices" to make sure you have the correct driver installed and selected, an old/wrong driver can cause your problem.

What is your interface/soundcard
What driver is selected in Cubase "devices"

Are you sure you have the Lexicon driver for windows 7 installed and selected in Cubase ? Go to the Lexicon website and double check that you have the most recent version Omega driver for windows 7. You've got to rule things out one at a time.

thanks tentrafish
was nice reading all that infomation i j ust want to make uip my mind wich one i would do
and wicht one i wont do
but nonetheless its great information
thank y ou much

pdp i do have the lasters driver for lexicone
wich is 2.6 if im not mistaken
wich is windows 7 compatible
thank you
good looking out

So where are you now ? Is it working?

Are you running 32bit VSTi's on a 64bit system? They run like total crap on my system, hog the CPU somethin fierce.

have a 32bit system
and still run like crap
and just the vsti have me going crazy
cause i h ave the buffer down to 10-ms
i didnt need no vst like reverb to do all what the vsti's are doing
i still need major help

How does it work at a higher buffer/latency setting? How many Vsti's are you running. I have an Intel Quad core, at 10ms I cant run more than 5 or 6 unless they're real CPU savers.

it wont work at a higher buffer
just pops and clicks
when running 2 vsti s there is no real problem
but when i run a 3th one then i start getting this noisy sound wich i hate so much
but its no fu this way
before i could of run as many vsti s that i wanted to
but now i would consider myself lucky if i get 3 of them to work
wish doesnt happen to often
songs i did before with all vst in it cant even play the way it use to
