Roland S-550 (A Few Questions)

I just purchased (its in the mail) an S-550 with the mouse, RGB adapter, and 200 sample disks ($99).
Ive never used a Roland sampler, and Im hoping to get a lot of feedback.

Is there a monitor setup that is preferred over another?

Are other sample formats compatible with the S-550, and vice versa?

Also are there any more accessories, or an operating system I should look into?

What are some strong points of the S-550?

Im curious about what others like the best about their S-550, and where they
feel they get the most out of it.

ANY suggestions, or tips are greatly appreciated

I love my S550, been using it since about '93, and don't mind the 12-bit res at all. I use an old Apple IIe monitor with the monochrome input, works like a charm. Instead of getting longwinded here, check out the s-group:
