Is It True? Can A ADAT Be Used As A Interface With a Digi001?

stevieb

Just another guy, really.
I have heard that one can use an Alesis ADAT machine as an interface to a Digi001, thus having 16 channels to record to (assuming computer has the guts, natch.) Is this true? How difficult is it to get it to work?

Also, if one has TWO Digi001's and TWO ADAT's, can they be used to record to 32 channels?

Please keep your responses to the issue at hand- don't waste your time and mine telling me how much you hate ADAT's, or Digi001's, or how anquitated they are, etc. etc. ad nauseum. I have no patience for that crap, keep THAT to yourself.

You could hypothetically sync an alesis adat to your 001, but why? Didn't those machines max out at 20 bits anyways?

What the adat port is moreso meant for is to hook up a digital multi preamp device or adda like the apogee rosetta, presonus digimax, or behringer ultragain.

Yes, this will give you 8 more ins to protools.
