ptmp8 installed OK but will not run, loads as far as " loading forum plug-ins"

Hangs up , will go no further. Using XP pro SP3 . Has all the RAM that xp can use. (3GB+)
Can I go into forum and delete some plugs in's that don't seem that useful to shrink the Forum file???
