Latency with m-powered and projectmix I/O

I'm running Pro tools M-Powered 7 along with the projectmix I/O - all is working fine so far except that when I record vocals I notice a slight delay between when I sing and when I hear it. It comes back fine in playback but it's very off-putting during recording.

Could anyone tell me how to fix this please, I can't work out where to go in my settings and I've searched through the manuals and online, I really would appreciate it.

Bring up the firewire interface and set the channel that you are recording through (on the PM I/O) to output directly to the main (1/2 or 3/4 whatever one you are using). In Pro Tools pull the fader on the track you are recording to down to nothing or really low to the point that when you are tracking your vocals you won't hear it. Now if you are using a reverb or anything on the track you may not be able hear it either. That's one downside to this method, however it does take care of latency and you shouldn't hear the "doubling" effect.
