Installing Pro Tools 9

I just got my first Mac and Pro Tools 9 and I'm afraid I'm running into compatibility problems. My Mac runs both Windows 8 and OSX 10.9 Mavericks. However, in my Avid account I only see PT9 installers for OSX 10.6 and 10.7, and Windows 7. Is my computer a too far ahead of the game for Pro Tools 9?

Hi there,
Protools 9 is not compatible with Mavericks. I believe PT 9 came out for Snow leopard so you're (L, ML, M) 3 OS versions out.

I just found out that PT10 and PT11.2.0 are not even compatible with Mavericks....That's what I'm using!

Anyway, you'd need to upgrade to PT11 or reinstall Snow Leopard.

If you're feeling lucky and nothing is riding on it you could try the 10.7 installer and be prepared for failure.
It's not uncommon for mismatches to work 99% but not be approved.

I actually used the 10.7 installer and it works great! Also contacted the guy I bought Pro Tools from and he said he was using it on Mavericks as well.

It appears to work; Keep that in mind.
I'm glad you got it installed but, be aware, it will let you down at some point.

Thanks for letting us know. :)
