How do you clean up when a project is complete? (Deleting unused files safely...)

When you're finished with a project and it has been printed, what do you do to consolidate the project? Meaning, If I want to keep the audio that was actually used, but delete unused regions and such, is it safe/smart to just go into the session file and use the 'delete unused regions' function? Or is there a smart way to just save the session as another name or in another location, copying over just the used regions?

I know there's a way to do this, I've just forgotten :/

you can use Select Unused Regions (or Select Unused except whole audio files)...then you can do a clear selected
It will ask you if you want to just remove the regions from the session (which doesn't free up a lot of space if any) or delete them from disc. Deleting them will free up the most space.

After that you can Select All regions and do a Compact selected which will free up even more space on the disc. But will get rid of excess handles on the regions.
