Help with Pro Tools v9 I/O

Hi Everyone,

When I go to the SETUP-->HARDWARE section of PT the only Peripheral I find is the M-Audio MobilePre. If I launch the Audio/Midi Setup I see many others, including the "Pro Tools Aggregate I/O" which I am trying to use.

What am I doing wrong? Why won't the other Perihperals appear in the PT HW section?
I am using PT v9.0.0 with MacBook (2009) with OS/X 10.6.8 (yes, I know, both old, but it is what I've got right now...)

Here is the PT "Hardware Setup" snapshot: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mariano-okon/14689550121/

Here is the Mac "Audio Devices" snapshot: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mariano-okon/14692730135

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I've already lost quite some time trying multiple things and googling it.

Thanks!

Mariano

You may need to reconfigure the I/O settings (Setup -> I/O) to access all your hardware in PT.

Note that when using Aggregate Device different devices are using separate clocks so the system has to resample at least some and perhaps all incoming audio streams.

Hi there.

Hardware is the wrong menu. You want to visit Setup->Playback engine.
You should see aggregate device in there.

If you do that and have trouble with your IO, then visit Setup->I/O as BSG says.
You may need to select all/delete/restore defaults for input and output tabs.

I've no idea what that hardware window is for. Answers on a postcard.

Just a slight update. I was able to update to 9.0.5 The reason I was unsuccesfull before is because I have PT MP 9, not PT 9. Avid never checks if you are installing the update of the correct version...

In any case, i still cannot make this work. In "Playback Engine" I don't have a a drop down, I just have MobilePre.

For your reference I've added the snapshots of "Playback Engine" and "IO Setup"

"IO Setup" snapshot: https://www.flickr.com/photos/mariano-okon/14701308322/

Again, thanks for your help!

Yeah, that makes sense. ProTools M-powered is restricted to certain supported interfaces, rather than being open to the market like the normal PT 9/10/11.

I wasn't aware that aggregate device isn't supported in PT MP but, thinking about it, it makes sense.
I guess there are built in direct drivers for the supported interfaces, rather than using core audio or whatever.
