Going from Pt 11 to Pt 10...

Unless they've changed something, yes.
I currently have ProTools 10 (.2.6?) and 11.3.0.

When I 'bought' PT 11 they were giving out licenses for 10 and 11 to cover the people who couldn't yet upgrade to AAX plugins.

edit. "bought" sounds like I stole it! lol. I had free upgrade entitlement for a while.

I can download both on the AVID website as well. I just assumed that it was there because of people not wanting to lose their plug-ins.

I think that's the main reason. During the AAX transition period a lot of plugs weren't available for PT 11.
If you bought it, PT10 would be there to see you through.

As I say, I don't know if they still offer both licenses together like that, but the two most recent versions of the software can certainly coexist, on OS X at least.

You can't open them both simultaneously, though.
