Cant record with MBox Mini

I had a faulty disk drive on my Mac Book Pro which I replaced, installed Snow Leopard PT9 and correct drivers and now I can't record.
I am using an MBox mini with a mic plugged into the mic input.
I set up an audio track in PT and set the record button on but nothing appears on the meters. I can hear the mic through the LH monitor.
If I switch the playback device from mbox mini to pro tools aggregated I can record through the mbox but the monitoring now comes from the internal speakers on my computer.
Any ideas?

Hi there,
The disk drive is almost certainly unrelated.

I'd go through the basic interface setup stuff first.
Open Protools and go to setup>Playback Engine and make sure the mbox is selected.

Now go to Setup>IO and select the input tab.
Choose all paths and hit delete.
Once the list is empty, hit default and leave that menu.

Now create a new track, set the input to mic 1 or input 1 (whatever it's called) and test again.

FYI, aggregate device is a virtual interface that can contain more than one real hardware interface.
In your case, it must contain the mbox and built in audio.
You don't need to use it and it's not relevant, but I just thought I'd explain.
