Boss BR1600CD 16-Track Vs VF160EX

Marking my territory
Any opinions as to which one is best or which one is the best value for money? I love my MR8 but I am struggling with some of the annoying limitations and reckon this will be solved by going to a 16 track multitracker.

What do you reckon?

Waiting for the MR-8HD to come out. This will save you some of the learning curve of the other machines, and you will have a 40GB harddrive and more inputs.

Unless you are trying to record more than 4 tracks at a time.

Then I would go for the VF160EX, 8 tracks at a time.

The Boss may have better effects, and more XLR inputs. I love my VF160. Reliable, predictable, solid. Can't say much about the Boss. But I imagine it's very capable. The VF160 is 16bit. The Boss may be 24bit, but a number of the Boss units use data compression (not full 16bit).
