OK, it's been too long since there's was a post in this forum, so here's my uncomfortable-silence-tip-of-the-moment:
If you have an Apple remote, like they tend to give you with a new computer (looks like an older iPod shuffle, sort of), you can queue up Logic to where you want to start recording, then walk across the room to where your mic(s) is, and point the remote at the mac and press the "menu" button, and it'll start recording. You can then push the main play/pause button to stop. I think I got that right. This is really convenient for solo recording, so that you don't have to either a) track right next to the mac, or b) run/stumble across the room to click the mouse.
I know this works with Logic Express 8 - it probably works with other versions, too.
