reaper moving multiple tracks when I move one

I'm trying to cut and move a spoken word audio file to align with the tempo of the music. What is happening is that when I split the file and move the split section, Reaper is moving all audio files on all tracks that started after the position of the part I'm moving. For example, the keyboards in the chorus, and the second guitar are all getting moved when I move the spoken work file in the first verse. When I try to move them back, it moves the spoken word file right back to where it was before I edited it. How do I move just individual segments of the spoken word file. I didn't realize this was happening, so I've got 15 music tracks that are all in the wrong place now, and I can't fix them without messing up the spoken word track.

What am I missing? '

There's some VERY useful videos on the Reaper download page you could probably use :)
