Installing Reaper's FX to D: Drive in v5

During a fresh install, how do you do this? I was able to eventually figure this out in v4, but with v5 I keep getting all the supplied FX plus my own lost to each other in a grand mess leaving me once again stuck in the gate.

Cookbook me through this in the simplest most generic way, please.

I know this must be bone simple, but for some reason a lot of people besides me seem to be having trouble with it.

I don't know about installing them in a different place but you could move them from the Reaper plugins folder to where you want them and then rescan for new plugs, including the folder you move them to. That'd be the easiest way.
