INTRODUCING ADOBE AUDITION!

Syntrillium Software and Adobe Systems Incorporated are delighted to
announce the introduction of Adobe® Audition™ software, the essential
tool for professional digital audio! Adobe Audition is a re-branded release of Cool Edit Pro, which we expect to begin shipping in late August 2003.

Visit http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html for more information.

Read on to learn how you can upgrade to Adobe Audition!

In May 2003, Adobe acquired the technology assets of Syntrillium
Software, including its flagship product, Cool Edit Pro. Adobe is excited about continuing to develop Adobe Audition as the digital audio tool of choice for musicians, audio professionals, and video professionals. Adobe Audition includes all of the mixing, editing, mastering, effects, and analysis tools from Cool Edit Pro 2.1, as well as thousands of royalty-free loops (including many from the Loopology Web site). Integration with Adobe’s video products has been added too.

As a customer, you have helped make Cool Edit a success. Your passion, commitment, and enthusiasm—as well as your participation in the Cool Edit community—will continue to be essential to our team. We hope that you'll upgrade to Adobe Audition:

• Own Cool Edit Pro 2.x? You’re eligible for a complimentary update
to Adobe Audition when it becomes available in late August! Visit http://www.adobe.com/products/audition/main.html to find out when the product is available.

• Own Cool Edit 2000 or Cool Edit Pro 1.x? You can upgrade to
Adobe Audition for just $99(USD)! Just visit http://www.adobe.com/store/products/master.jhtml?id=catAudition
to pre-order your copy today.

Upgrading entitles you to Adobe technical support, invitations to special Adobe events, and more. We hope you’ll join the Adobe family by upgrading to Adobe Audition.

As part of Adobe’s complete video solution, Adobe Audition is included in the Adobe Video Collection, which also includes Adobe Premiere® Pro, Adobe After Effects®, and Adobe Encore™ DVD software. If you’re looking to expand your toolkit to include the most complete desktop video production solution available, visit
http://www.adobe.com/products/dvcoll to learn more about the Adobe
Video Collection.

Thanks for your support of Cool Edit, and we hope we can count on your future support of Adobe Audition.

--The Cool Edit Pro/Adobe Audition team

the screenshots look pretty much like cool edit. plus some video features.

so, i guess this is good

I just don't see them being as dedicated to the 'sound' people. I think they will use this as a launching point to try to make this program do everything, and it won't be as good or as focused in the future.

I hope you're wrong... but I fear you're right.

Adobe is such a visual-oriented company. All of there products deal with the look and feel aspect. I don't see them furthering the "Audio" technology of this program any further than it's current state...

Oh well. I guess it's time to move to Cubase... :(

I already had to because of my firestation (ASIO drivers only)...even still, I had been moving the waves over to CEP2 because I like the layout so much better...but I need to start getting more into Cubase.

Knowing the pro audio market so well, Adobe list Audition under "Digital Video" products.
I saw a special offer from Syntrillium - Red Rover was something silly like $49 but the offer also said "While Stocks last". Does this mean the hardware product if finished?

Probably. Adobe doesn't usually do hardware stuff.

Adobe is not an audio company. Thay'll have to prove
they can develop CEP to it's full potential in the future.
I doubt they can. I think they drop the ball.
