The system that I am useing for recording Vinyl has about a -60 db line noise profile I am woundering how this stacks up to the norm. I tried some new equipment and got around -48 which was quite audiable the equipment that I am useing is around the 1980 level as far as age. The new stuff I took back just couldn't get it any better. I am running mixer-pre with 1/3 octave eq mostly ic but it does have a filter for 60 cycle. I actually think the mixer may be 1970's and only has a symbol as to what it actually is and all the lettering is in german. The eq a Technics before panasonic bought them. This is mostly what I use this for so what has a better line noise profile or is -60 good enough. The symbol on the mixer looks pretty close to napster's without the ears. I picked it up in 1983 and just can't remember the name of it.
