I just got Adobe audition Cs 6 and when i go to record it says.

The sample rates of the audio input and output devices do not match audio cannot be recorded until this is corrected.
Use the appropriate operating system or audio device control panel to adjust the sample rates of the input and output devices to use the same settings.

i went to the control panel on my computer and opened up the IDT hd sound audio system and set every thing in there to exactly the same settings but it still keeps saying that.
so i don't really know what to do now.

i'm also running windows xp if that helps at all.

i figured out what was wrong.
when i went to open a session i needed the sample rate to be at 4800 hz and it wasn't at that and that is why i was getting a error message.

i should kick myself for not thinking of that sooner lol

I found this program for many things a burden on some issues compared to Cool Edit Pro and this was one of them. Fixing that took some research on the web but even more of a burden is every time I change recording inputs the program freezes or does nothing and have to restart it.
I had none of these issues with CEP.

This was the most frustrating part for me going from Cool Edit Pro to Audition. I'm sure there is reasoning for this but the frustration of having to go into your recording settings in windows then changing your sample rate in the options.

I believe it was that older versions of Cool Edit Pro operated only on Windows MME drivers but it was then re-written (at customer request) to use primarily ASIO drivers since most users want the low latency and probably use specialist audio interfaces.

With ASIO, Audition can usually change settings on the interface from the Preferences panel.
