Tascam 2x2 and sonar x3

Hi,got a new pc-hp envy with i5 quad core -windows 8.1.new tascamus2x2 and sonar x3 artist. When i enable record it will drop the input and output drivers and i get an error message that says the device was disconected. If i reset the inputs and output it will work till i hit that record enable button again.will do this on each track almost every time.i delited the drivers and downloaded new ones for the 2x2,but same thing.I tried increasing buffers no effect. Any help would be appreciated thanks
 
I had the same problem with a similar computer - I think the drivers are crap. The only way I could get it to be usable was to decrease the buffers to the worst possible setting, so bad that you could hear the delay if you monitored the recording. It got worse and worse as I added more vsts to the project. Finally bought me a NI interface and am happy.
