Hi, When burning a project from final mix to disc the finished recording has a much lower volume than the final mix. I have used different sonar generations and this is the first time i have had this problem. any ideas what I am doing wrong or how to make an adjustment?

any help would be appreciated

thanks

I assume you're doing export audio to a wav file and then burning? I find that happens all the time even in Sonar X3 - there's a drop in apparent volume on the CD. Iopen the wav file in Sound Forge and edit it there before I burn it - Volume, trimming etc. It's not like mastering just a volume increase from the Sonar level. Usually I can increase 4 db max before it starts to clip (all depends on the original mix of course).
I guess you could always open the wav file in Sonar and do the same thing - using gain adjustment.

ok..thanks. thats what i wind up doing but its just a pain in the a###. seems like an unnecessary step

thanks again

There is no volume drop in X3 or any other version of Sonar.

There is SOMEthing wrong with your export/mix

Are your master faders set at 0dB?
Is there any volume automation on the master bus?
What export settings are you using?
