fit improvisation question

Hello,
I want to use the fit improvisation feature to adjust the tempo of a project to the beat of one particular "metronome" clip that I recorded and has four events, spaced equally apart. What I want though is for the measures to adjust to the events of the clip so that each of those events comes at 1:01:000, 2:01:000, 3:01:000, etc. Is there a way to do that? When I use the fit improvisation now, the tempo changes so the time between the measures changes, but the actual measures stay the same. I hope that question made sense.

by the way i use sonar 2.2
i am asking the above question because i want to quantize my MIDI tracks but to do that i need to get the beat/measures to fit my original improvisation, right? how do you guys do it?
 
Did you try Fit to Time?

From the Process menu...

I didi this once when I scored a short video with SONAR 1, so I know it's possible... don't remember the details...
 
Thanks AlChuck I got it. I misunderstood Sonar's help manual in regards to the "fit to time" and "fit improvisation" features. thanks again.
