Drop Outs

Trying to lay down my .wav to track and keep getting drop outs even if it's only one track. Just an FYI, I have other software such as N-Tracks and Reaper and the same thing happens when I try to use those Apps as well.

My procedure is

1. I record to my MR-8
2. Transfer audio .wav to PC
3. Put to track in Sonar.

I had never had drop out problem like this before. Only time I would have a problem would be if I had too many tracks down at once.

I have already reformatted my HD and still having the same problem.

Any ideas?

I use Sonar 6 PE also and have occasional dropouts. You don't have a ton of RAM, but it should be enough. Sometimes your computer will interpret something streaming as a security threat and interrupt the process.

If you are not on the internet, which I suggest for a music computer, disable any anti virus stuff you have going on.

I had a problem with Norton once that caused dropouts on my laptop.

Another thing you might try is to un-install Sonar and re-install it. Do the same with any interface driver that you have.
