If I'm not mistaken, the SR-16 comes with patches; I have one sitting in my studio; however, since I bought the Boss 770 Drum box, I don't use the 16 anymore; it was nice in its time; its time is over as far as sound quality goes.
Now maybe you can download some patches to the drum machine, SR16; I've never done that since I don't have a pc studio.
Programming takes time; normally, I like to use the patches on my Boss 770; many of the patches come with a mode/switch which adds to the first patch and is quite interesting to use.
